The Company
L’Ormarins is a historic wine Estate in the Franschhoek valley, celebrating 300 years of wine making in the Cape in 2014. The original Huguenot who established the Estate was Jean- Roi, and hailed from a town named L’Ourmarins outside Avignon, France. Today the Estate forms part of the Anthonij Rupert Wyne portfolio which produces quality wines across 5 brands, from 4 different site specific Estates.
The Products
Part of the Anthonij Rupert Wyne Estate portfolio, the L’Ormarins Olive grove is located on a steep mountainous North facing slope on L’Ormarins Estate where wine has been produced for 300 years. Originally planted in 2000, this boutique production of olive oil uses exemplary practices such as organic farming, hand picking & pruning, environmentally friendly pest control. The Olive grove is 3 hectares in size and generally produces 5 tons of olives per annum resulting in approximately 2500 bottles of Olive oil.
Hand picking is done in the early morning in the cool of the day, pressed immediately and gently filtered. It is then sealed to preserve freshness and stored in temperature controlled facilities.”
