Enjoy classic brekkie trio with a tasty Overberg twist. The most important meal of the day just got marvelous at Gabriëlskloof Estate outside Bot River in the Overberg, where jaded appetites can now wake up to its new Breakfast Trilogy which features a trio of its favourite brekkie classics with a twist…all in one go.
Breakfast is a time for simple indulgences with bold flavours and hearty tastes to get you in the right mood and excited for the rest of your day. Our new Breakfast Trilogy will do just that. We also call it the ‘no more difficult choices’ breakfast as you don’t have to suffer from order envy and choose only one. You get to enjoy three mini versions of our signature morning meals at one fell swoop, shares Chef Frans Groenewald who claims his life motto to be ‘carpe diem’ and his infectious demeanor reflects that.
From March until end of August, the Gabriëlskloof Breakfast Trilogy will seize the day with a fresh veggie or fruit juice shot and a cappuccino followed by a pot of set Greek yoghurt, festooned with berries, honey roasted nuts and minted grapefruit and orange.
Next to perk up the palate is Gabriëlskloof’s take on Eggs Benedict – a poached egg served on a mini Roosterkoek with a generous dollop of Bobotie. Alternatively one can opt for trout or a vegetarian option to accompany this egg-cellent main course.
Your rise-and-shine indulgence ends on a sweet note with a mini French toast, made from banana and poppy seed bread and topped with mascarpone, a plop of salted caramel and fresh berries.
At R150 per person, the Gabriëlskloof Breakfast Trilogy is ideal for a morning business meeting; an early bird catch up session with your girlfriends or to celebrate your birthday a la brunch style at this gorgeously appointed wine and olive farm ‘on the koppie’.
Whether you are swinging by for a wine tasting; to feast your senses in the quaint, resident Deli; or to enjoy a country-inspired lunch at the Gabriëlskloof Restaurant, or are planning to tie the knot, Gabriëlskloof has it all.
On rainy, cold days the restaurant’s inviting lounge area, complete with a cosy fireplace, offers the perfect spot to unwind with a bottle of Gabriëlskloof’s finest. On sunny days the wide “stoep”, framed by lush lawns and reflective ponds, beckons enthusiasts to recharge those batteries with a laid-back wine tasting before tucking into a meal that pays homage to real Overberg tastes with a pinch of nostalgia.
The Gabriëlskloof Restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch from Wednesdays till Mondays (closed on Tuesdays). For more information regarding the Breakfast Trilogy and bookings contact the restaurant at Tel: 028 284 9865 or send an email to restaurant@gabrielskloof.co.za.
