For those olive enthusiasts who would like to expand their knowledge or just get acquainted with the tasting practice of olive oil, the SA Olive Industry Association will be offering a unique experience to test out your palette. Those who complete the course and obtain the certification will be eligible to judge olives oils in competitions and quality panels.
SA Olive will be hosting an olive oil tasting course from the 10th to the 12th of August at Klein Parys Vineyards, 8 Jan van Riebeeck Drive, Paarl. The course will be presented by Dr Antonio Lauro, who is an international expert on olive oil and tasting of EVOO.
Cost: R4,500 (incl VAT) for the 3 days; R2,250 for second person or more. Includes refreshments, lunch and course material. Accommodation is not included.
For the more experienced olive taster, an olive oil refresher tasting course will also be offered.
This course will take place on the 15 of August, also at Klein Parys Vineyards.
Cost: R1,500 (incl VAT) for 1 day. The price includes refreshments, lunch and course material. Accommodation is not included.
