Sol&Agrifood: A Landmark For Olives, Olive Oil & Agro-Food Products

One of the most comprehensive produce and trade fairs, Sol&Agrifood, will be taking place this year from the 9th to the 12th of April 2017, in Verona, Italy. Sol&Agrifood shares the dates and is co-located with the worlds largest wine show, VINITALY

The format of Sol&Agrifood and its initiatives encourage direct contact between producers and trade operators, buyers and catering professionals. The aim is to allow producers to explain and narrate how products come into being, what are they, where the raw materials come from and any related traditions.

Growing attendance by foreign buyers, thanks to intensified incoming activities implemented by Veronafiere in Russia, the Far East, China, Japan, India, the USA, Central and South America, Mexico, Australia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Tunisia, Egypt, Bulgaria, Lebanon and Jordan.
Business contacts are promoted by b2b meetings organised between delegations of foreign buyers and exhibitors. In addition to b2b meetings, Sol&Agrifood also offers mini courses illustrating how to recognize the true quality of products.

From pasta to delicatessen meats, confectionery specialties and cheese, from honey to sauces, beer and coffee. The exhibition is increasingly becoming a landmark for food products from Italy as well as other countries, with significant growth in foreign exhibitors, and will see a South African stand this year.

International Sol d’Oro Competition

Sol d’Oro is the most important international olive oil competition in the world, organized in Verona (Italy) by Veronafiere as a preview to Sol&Agrifood. The competition aims to promote the world’s best extra virgin olive oils and encourage improvements in production and quality.

Things to do at Sol&Agrifood

An area dedicated to tasting allowing regional group shows and consortia to present their best produces to a select audience of international operators. Buyers can freely taste olive oils guided by specific datasheets. A consecutive translation service facilitates contacts between operators and producers.

A Tasting Area where the producers – assisted by a chef – present and “talk about” their products to journalists and national/international operators. An Italian-English consecutive translation service is provided.
